Pediatric OT
At the heart of Wonder Land is our unique play and connection centered Occupational Therapy (OT) approach for children.
What makes our OT so unique?
Location
For starters, Wonder Land makes house-calls. That's right, we come to you! Your child can participate in OT with Wonder Land:
-
In your home
-
In your backyard
-
At a nearby park
-
In a nature area
-
In the community
-
At a flexible combination of these

We arrive with everything we need to provide a full spectrum of OT services in your child's natural environment. This not only increases safety and convenience, but also increases the generalization of skills from the OT session into the child's daily life.
We Support the Whole System

We work to support a felt sense of safety in the child’s sensory and nervous systems -- using play, modeling, and co-regulation. We practice during OT sessions, and give you the tools to practice at home, together.

Approach
Using child-centered and play-based therapeutic modalities, we encourage children to grow and flourish with the support they need. Every family's OT services will be uniquely designed and implemented with Wonder Land, in creative collaboration with your family.
We feel strongly that OT is not as effective as a stand-alone 'drop-in' after-school enrichment activity but rather that it is a dynamic and vibrant partnership between family and therapist, and an active collaboration with all of the child's support team members (teachers, caregivers, and other specialists). Together we can help your child feel rooted in their body and confident to unfurl their wings and take flight!
More Ways to Be Supported
We offer sibling support for families that have more than one child in OT.

We also offer OT Groups and our Superstars Inclusive Sports Groups which provide
small group settings for your child to learn and play alongside peers.

“When my boys were first recommended for Occupational Therapy, I didn't know what to expect. Now, it is difficult to imagine what our children's and family's life would be like without Jackie's support and guidance.
She brings new ideas and activities to each session, balancing skill building with play and fun. She has addressed a range of challenges from occupational to behavioral and always sought to get to know our children as individuals and whole beings.
Our boys can identify and communicate their emotions and needs in a way that their older sibling (who did not receive OT) can still struggle with. We are forever grateful for the skills that Jackie is teaching our children, as well as us as parents. She is a true light in our lives."
